FAQ Page
How can we get more involved in the chamber?
We encourage any member business to join one of our industry-based committees. Joining a committee will afford you a chance to make connections in the same industry in community. This can lead to helping to host events, sitting on a panel or a workshop and getting involved in neighborhood initiatives. Another way to stay connected with the chamber is to attend networking events that are hosted about once a month. These events include members and non-members alike; attendance will afford you the opportunity to really meet others connected with the chamber.
How can I pay my annual dues?
We will send both a digital or a paper invoice ahead of your due date (the same date that you registered). You are welcome to pay online through the invoice, a check or you can always go through the “Become a Member” button on the website.
What are your boundaries?
Our boundaries are from Wells Street to Rockwell and from Grand Avenue to 16th Street. We represent the West Loop, Greektown, Madison Street, Randolph Street, Jackson Blvd., Fulton River District, Fulton Market, United Center Park, Little Italy, Tri-Taylor, University Village and Commons, Illinois Medical District & Roosevelt Square.
How can I stay up to date on chamber events?
To stay up to date with the WCA we recommend sign up to our weekly newsletter that is sent out every Friday morning, following our social media and stopping by our website to see listed events.
Where can I find old photos of the West Loop/Chicago?
Although we enjoy a historical photo as much as the next person, we do not keep archives at the West Central Association. Consider checking out the Chicago History Museum or the Chicago Tribune photo archives.
Are my employees considered members or do they have to join separately?
Once your company joins the WCA every employee is considered a member. There is no need to apply separately.
How can I use the chamber to market my business?
As a chamber of commerce, our number one goal is to ensure that we are helping support your business. One of the ways that we do that is through marketing and Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening services. We include—and feature you—in our newsletter. We try to feature new members on our social media, if that fits for your industry, as well. We recommend and refer you as a business in the area over non-members. We write articles and listicals that specifically feature our member businesses. We have industry-based committees that work to create events that can cater to your business and introduce you to other business owners. We would also be happy to meet with you to help create a strategy to market your business.
How can I figure out if my company is a current member of the WCA?
Feel free to call us at 312-902-4922, or email us at info@wcachicago.org. We would be happy to let you know if your company is a current or past member.
What is the WCA’s refund policy on membership?
We do not refund any level of membership under any circumstances.
What is the WCA’s refund policy on events?
We do not refund any tickets for any of our events.
What is the role of a WCA director?
A WCA director is expected to keep our organization a priority. A WCA director must attend our quarterly meetings, attend a few events a year and we prefer that you sit on one of our industry-based committees to have the most input in our organization. A director is a year-long commitment.
What information do we give out when it comes to visiting or relocating to the West Loop?
Welcome to the West Loop! As the area’s chamber of commerce, we would be happy to recommend businesses for you to use during and after your move. Feel free to call us at 312-902-4922, or email us at info@wcachicago.org.
Can I get a Certificate of Origin at the WCA?
Unfortunately, we do not process Certificates of Origin. You can get the certificate at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. The best contact would be VP of Operations Sara Barnett, sbarnett@chicagolandchamber.org.
Do I have to be within the WCA’s boundaries to join the organization?
You do not! We welcome any business that wishes to join. We have a special Associate membership at $330 (the same price as our regular membership) for those located outside of our service area. To learn more, click here.
What is my WCA website login?
We do not have a general membership WCA website login. If you see a locked page on our website that is for our specific committees.
