West Loop: Local Impact Fund Community Forum

  • Via Zoom United States (map)

The Department of Planning and Development will co-host a virtual community webinar this month with Ald. Walter Burnett (27th), the West Loop Community Organization, West Central Association, and the Neighbors of the West Loop to get feedback on community priorities for unused Local Impact Funds in the West Loop neighborhood.

The meeting will take place on Zoom at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22. Registration is open now.

Local Impact Funds account for 10 percent of the Neighborhood Opportunity Bonus payments that come from downtown developers who seek to build taller and wider structures. The funds must be used for public works projects in the downtown area, and DPD makes the decision on the allocation of these funds in consultation with the local alderman.

A draft of the presentation for the Sept. 22 meeting will be posted on the city’s website ahead of time. A community survey is also open seeking feedback through Sunday, Oct. 10.

Members of the public are invited to email questions for the meeting ahead of time to DPD@cityofchicago.org or ward27@cityofchicago.org . Please send all questions by 5 p.m. on Monday, September 20.

Questions and comments can always be sent to dpd@cityofchicago.org.
